Refunds & returns
Last updated: October 4, 2026
We want you to love your family cookbook. Here's exactly what happens if something isn't right. To ask for a refund, reprint or cancellation, email hello@heirloom-recipe-books.com with the email you used to order and a short note about what happened.
PDF books ($7.99)
If you're not happy with your PDF, email us within 14 days of buying it and we'll refund you in full. No hard feelings.
Printed books
Every printed book is made to order, just for your family, so we can't accept change-of-mind returns once printing has started. Here's what we do cover:
- Damaged or defective books — torn, badly bound, misprinted or damaged in the post. Email us within 30 days of delivery with a photo of the problem, and we'll reprint and reship it for free or refund you, whichever you prefer. You don't need to send the book back.
- Lost in transit — if your book never arrives, email us within 30 days of the expected delivery date and we'll reprint and reship it or refund you.
- Canceling an order — orders can be canceled for a full refund until they're sent to the printer. Email us as soon as possible; once printing has started, we can't cancel.
Because your book is printed exactly as you approved it in the preview, typos or AI reading mistakes that were in the approved preview aren't covered as defects — so please check your preview carefully. If the printed book doesn't match the preview you approved, that's on us, and we'll make it right.
If a book can't be delivered because the shipping address entered was incorrect, we'll do our best to help, but a reshipment may need to be paid for.
Gift codes
Gift codes that haven't been redeemed can be refunded to the person who bought them within 30 days of purchase. Once a gift code has been used for a book, the printed-book rules above apply. Gift codes do not expire.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. They usually appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
